On a sunny Saturday afternoon Napa residents dedicated a Soldier’s Cross Monument. It was Napa’s tribute honoring the military service of men and women who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. Virtual Memorials to six of the fallen were created by Veteran Stone and the Veterans Media Center of San Francisco.
Visitors to the memorial can scan the QR code and view Virtual Memorial videos of six fallen service members. The Veterans Media Center of San Francisco created the Memorial videos to go with Veteran Stone smartphone viewer app.

A few hundred people gathered Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park to dedicate a memorial honoring service members from Napa County who have died in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The monument, named “Fallen But Not Forgotten,” was unveiled Saturday at the corner of Third and Main streets, thanks to the efforts of Alyssa DeBenedetti, a 2012 Napa High School graduate who proposed the monument and spearheaded the project.
For months, DeBenedetti contacted veterans’ organizations, city officials and others and raised about $13,000 to make the 4-foot-tall bronze sculpture a reality. (read more)

Napa’s Iraq & Afghanistan Momument: Fallen But Not Forgotten
Napa’s memorial monument is dedicated to the men and women of Napa County who lost their lives serving their country in Iraq and Afghanistan. Virtual Memorials for SSGT Dwight J. Morgan, LCPL Phillip G. West, PFC Jennifer L Cole, CPO Darrik C. Benson, SGT Chase B. Stanley, and SPC Garrett A. Fant were created as living legacies and as a of their military service by their family and friends. Veteran Stone, Inc. created free site app technology to host the Virtual Memorials. So the Memorials can be viewed on Androids or iPhones by simply downloading the QR code at the site. The Memorial videos were produced by the Veterans Media Center of San Francisco.
