Pablo Castro, is the President of United Nations Association, San Francisco Chapter and has been a member for about 5 years. In addition, Mr. Castro is a self employed General Contractor and has been a member of the Rotary International for 30 years.
The mission of UNA is to educate people about the vital work that the UN does around the world and to advocate for issues related to the humanitarian causes that the UN practices, such as Human Rights, Peace Building and Peacekeeping, Environmental, Health and Educational issues affecting the planet and more.
Right now Mr. Castro is working hard with all the United States Chapters to state the San Francisco Chapter’s position in view of the Syrian situation. The San Francisco Chapter started a Peace campaign that initially has resulted in a letter to Congress and to 18,000 UNA members to recommend Peace instead of military force. In addition, he has started this project on behalf of the Board of Directors in San Francisco, the birthplace of the United Nations and has managed to engage everyone in the organization. “We will fight war with Peace,” Mr. Castro states.
