VETERANS FORUM ON CCSF ACCREDITATION
We were fortunate to have such an outstanding, experienced and well informed group of people on the panel to help us contemplate and better understand the mounting issues around revoking accreditation of City College of San Francisco.

A hearty THANK YOU to all of our panelists! Featured in this photo are: 

  • MICHAEL STOLL – (Moderator) Michael is a journalist, media critic and journalism educator. He is executive director of the San Francisco Public Press, a public interest news project and publication.
  • SHERAE HONEYCUTT – Sherae studied and worked as journalist at CCSF for a year. She made the video “What if City College Closed?” with IDTV in the CCSF Broadcast Department. She also worked at the award-winning CCSF magazine “Etc” and works with the radio station KCSF.
  • AUNDRAY ROGERS – Aundray is a veteran and President of the CCSF Veterans Alliance. The Veterans Alliance is “working to streamline attaining benefits as well as getting more benefits extended like travel, education and housing with no cost to veterans.”
  • ANGELA HART – Angela was in the Army Reserve from 1999-2008, and was deployed from 2003 through 2004 in Northern Iraq. She was in the 341st Military Police Company out of San Jose. She is a print and multimedia journalist covering the environment, health care, and politics. She is a CCSF alumnus.
  • ALEX EMSLIE – Alex was the Editor-in-Chief at the CCSF newspaper “The Guardsman” for more than a year. He has published in the San Francisco Chronicle, Huffington Post, San Francisco Bay Guardian, New America Media, and more. He has written extensively about the CCSF issues. In November he published in the SFSU newspaper, “Student veterans face unique challenges transitioning to college.”
  • ALISA MESSER – Alisa is the faculty union president of City College’s local AFT 2121, the American Federation of Teachers. Local 2121 is the City College Faculty Union who has been working to respond to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) requirements which began the possibility of closure and suspension of accreditation. Alisa is an English teacher at the college.
